Podiatrist

Azeem Shaik is a Johannesburg-based podiatrist and founder of Azeem Shaik Podiatry. He completed his podiatry degree at the University of Johannesburg, graduating with honours in 2023. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based foot and lower limb care in a welcoming, patient-centred environment. Mr Shaik believes that every patient deserves to feel heard, understood, and confident in their treatment journey. His special interests include geriatric foot care, diabetic foot management, adult and paediatric biomechanics, and sports-related injuries. He is passionate about helping elderly patients maintain mobility and independence, supporting individuals living with diabetes in protecting their foot health, assisting children with developmental and biomechanical concerns, and guiding active individuals safely back to sport. Mr Shaik places a strong emphasis on preventative care and patient education, ensuring that patients understand their condition and actively participate in their recovery. His goal is not only to relieve pain but to improve long-term function and overall quality of life. Outside of his clinical work, Mr Shaik is involved in community outreach initiatives focused on supporting underprivileged communities through education, feeding programmes, and clothing drives. He also participates in free medical screening initiatives in collaboration with IMASA. Giving back to the community remains an important part of his personal and professional values.
